I miss all the neat little call-outs on cars for their mechanical features.

The Latin word Axios means “I am worthy,” and was most famously used as Corbulo’s last word before sacrificing his life to prove his loyalty to the Roman Empire.
Quite a fitting word for Isuzu.

The PT Cruiser turbo had to remind you that it was “High-output.”

I love these, but also think they’re hilarious on Civics from like 2013.

Fun fact: The 3.5L 6VE1W, released in 2004 for the Isuzu Rodeo and Axiom, was considered the first affordable GDI engine to hit the market.

Saw one of these too yesterday. I think they look nice.

it did that because there were two turbo engines offered in the PT, the “low pressure” 180 hp engine, and the high output one which was basically the same as the SRT-4.

Well they probably could have called it the RT or even SRT4.

They called the one with the high output engine the “GT.” The 180 hp cars weren’t.

So, if it’s not a manual, would it be Axiomatic?

Its one of the best aging SUVs out there IMO. Still looks like it could be a 2017 model.

Advertising features on the center caps... Why the hell not, 90s GM?

First, the Axiom was awesome. And pretty. Second, direct injection was really pretty rare in the early 2000s. But last, I still remember when cars bragged about "Automatic" and "Fuel Injection," so all of it seems stupidly quaint and anachronistic.

Kind of like the last Saab 9-5. They still look completely modern.

Seriously! I think I’ve seen maybe 3 Axia(?) in the past 10 years. It was too far ahead of its time for a compact SUV, I think.

Good design too. Really a shame.
A slushbox can be fun, too!
